Are you enjoying Southeast Asian Series?

Technologies gets better and better every day. We were promised by our ancestors that the means of production is more free time to do everything we want, less work hour, more time to learn new things or gain new skills. But it seems like, we are busier today, more than our predecessors.

I decided to take some time for myself. I took the book that had left unread for a couple of months, even though the novella is relatively thin. Spoiler alert, I haven't finish it yet. I promise though, I will find time to finish the novella.

My reason why I struggled to finish even just a thin novella is that I find Thailand GL series are so engaging lately. At the time I'm writing this, I'm following two ongoing shows:

(left) US THE SERIES by GMMTV on YouTube, and (right) REVERSE WITH ME by Siamsi Studio on IQiyi.

Both of those series are adapted from popular Thailand novels. REVERSE WITH ME by Zezeho, and US THE SERIES by Chao Planoy. But my procrastination to enjoy these series is justified because both of them are really well-produced, well-written, and well-performed.

I think Southeast Asian movies and medias are getting better and better, thanks to the support of fans around the world. However, despite the attention and success, I must say that GL and BL genres are still very niche and only enjoyed by a specific group of people.

I have dreams that someday GL and BL series could just be called "romance" instead of niche genre like today. With the success of other series and pairings recently, there is a lot of potential and opportunity for that dream to come true.

That's why I'm making this blog/website. I hope to spread the love and support for the work of Southeast Asians entertainment to the wider audience. Along the way, I am also going to promote my own works here, hoping they got the love and appreciation they always deserve. I will talk in-depth about my works on another post. Though, as an opening, I think I could end this post here.
